I went into the market with a smart plan but got smartly burnt. I crafted a couple of stops but never had a chance to execute them, rather I was executed. I thought I caught a bull but it turned out to be a bear instead. I know bears were unfriendly but I never know they were that unfriendly until I came out broke. I wanted to join the 20% winners but how on earth I fell into the 80% loser camp. Up or down is only 50 50, yet winning seems like 1 to 99. Before the market open, I used my head; during the market I used my big strong heart. After the market, I came out with a heart attack. When I followed my broker, he was wrong; when I followed myself, he was right. Without capital I was always right and absolutely right; but when I had capital I were damm wrong. When I jumped into a bull trend the bull died; when I jumped into a bear trend, a young bull was running behind my back. When the price was so low and cheap, I stay out and regretted. When the price was so high, I jumped in and also regretted. They gave me front tips and insiders but it turned out to be tail end information chain. I put in a lot of homework and yet my wife, she did hell of a lot of housework, seems to be more right than me? It was so hard to strike a winner yet I can lose easily all I made if not more. My grandfather told my father not to invest in stocks; my father told this father not to invest in stocks. So I gambled in stocks. If they had said "invest wisely" I would be a millionaire by now. After all those agonising adventures and stories, there seems to have a universal successful pattern : Greed not. Have a Plan, stick to it. Play the rules. Be disciplined. Treat it not as a game, rather treat it as a business. If there is a real art in stock winning, it is the art of mastering and conquering yourself. Bull market dies of overweight. Bear market dies of intoxication? A pig died in the hand of a butcher.
